About Accounting.

Wasserwerk, as part of the SCHÜTTE Group, operates in a climate-neutral manner through CO2 compensation. To achieve this, all CO2 emissions that cannot yet be avoided at our company site in Wallenhorst despite all our efforts are fully offset by purchasing recognised climate protection certificates. The offsetting climate protection certificates come from the "Asahan 1 Hydroelectric Power Plant" climate protection project in Indonesia. The climate protection project we are supporting fulfils the conditions of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), which was developed as part of the Kyoto Protocol. Further information on the SCHÜTTE Group's commitment to climate protection can also be found on the company website at Fokus Zukunft.

The calculation of our greenhouse gas balance was carried out together with Fokus Zukunft GmbH & Co. KG. The calculation of CO2 emissions was based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG), which covers all greenhouse gases regulated under the Kyoto Protocol.
